//THE RACE

The 5th Carrera Solar Atacama will take place this October. For the first time in its history, the race will depart from Santiago, and will traverse through 7 regions of Chile, arriving in Arica following a route of more than 2,600 km.

The 5th Carrera Solar Atacama consists of two general vehicle classes: Solar Class, which are electric vehicles powered by solar energy, and Hybrid Class, electric vehicles powered by both solar energy and human force.

The race will begin on Saturday 20th October in Santiago, with the Pole Position of the Hybrid Class and the starting line of the Solar Class. This will be followed by a display convoy of the participating vehicles, which will make its way from Las Condes to La Moneda Palace, the seat of the President of the Republic of Chile.

Carrera Solar Atacama is a fantastic adventure across one of the driest countries in the world. There, the warmth of the sunshine is only eclipsed by the warmth and friendliness of its people.

This race is held in the Atacama desert of northern Chile, under some of the hardest, driest most intense conditions in the world.
