Carrera Solar Atacama 2018 is just around the corner, this time with an extreme new route of more than 2,600 km that will put the skills, engineering and endurance of teams to the test, passing through 7 different regions of Chile from Santiago to Arica, including the Atacama Desert.
Teams will face high levels of solar radiation and altitude, and will experience the very unique geography of the north of Chile in both vehicle classes: Solar and Hybrid.
Solar Class teams will carry out a single stage, covering the entire distance from Parque Araucano in Santiago to Plaza Vicuña Mackenna in Arica. Hybrid Class is a different format, where teams will face 6 separate challenges along the route: 3 urban circuits and 3 sections of the route.
The event starts on Saturday, October 20th in Santiago, and the teams will compete until Saturday, October 27th. The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, October 28th in Arica.
